You may have seen this proposal enough already but we wanted to share the ins and outs of how this came together from our point of view! To really understand how proposal planning works we have decided to take you through the process from the very beginning!

Luckily we have such great friends over at Rustic White Photography that referred us to Kyle in the first place (www.rusticwhitephotography.com). Kyle and I met for lunch one day to discuss how BASH could help him take his proposal to Breanna to another level. He already had the ring and knew that somehow he wanted to incorporate her love of orchids into this special day. This was the only information he had so far! After looking at many pictures of Breanna and asking Kyle specific questions about her, we sort of had her style in mind. Believe it or not we couldn’t find her on Facebook or Pinterest!

We discussed several options of creating our own orchid garden and even made calls to certain places in the city to find something remote and unique. That idea failed as there aren’t many possibilities at all where there are tons of orchids. The Atlanta Botanical Garden just seemed to be the perfect spot! But our goal as proposal planners is to go above and beyond and create a setting that is personal and unique to the couple themselves. And so the romantic picnic in the park was created. It seems simple really. But we were able to make it all about them in a setting that Kyle wouldn’t have been able to create without a little help. One of her favorite colors is blue and her style seemed to lean more towards the edgy, vintage side. She also loves games. We found the Button Checkers game online and this really became our inspiration for this proposal. Their picnic baskets were filled with a light meal, since he would take her out to a nice restaurant later that day. And the two pillows with their initials were just a little momento that we made for them to remember the day!

We really wanted to create some suspense for Breanna. They had talked about marriage before but Kyle didn’t think she had any idea it was coming. So of course something extra special like this out of the blue would surely give it away, right? Well he decided to take her out the day before as well to one of her favorite restaurants. The next morning was the picnic, which surely she thought would be the place he would propose. Not yet!! After playing checkers and admiring the view of Atlanta over the lake in Piedmont Park he walked her over to the orchid garden at Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Since he had given her an orchid on many occasions before and they all died (It’s ok Breanna, orchids are really hard to keep alive! They require moisture and the perfect temperature!), we decided that giving her a silk orchid on this special day would represent their lasting love for each other! We needed to bring the silk orchid into the picture and so I posed as a worker at the garden and handed Breanna a silk orchid as a gift from the gardens, telling her we gave them away on Sundays. Soon after, he would explain the meaning behind the orchid being silk and how it represented that their love would never die, and drop down on one knee!! And she said YES!!

August 25th, 2012 Mary and Scott Lengel

There is not much I do not love about this wedding. I love the colors, I love the people, I love the flowers, I love the couple and I love the energy that was in the room that night at the Old Decatur Courthouse. The energy probably had something to do with the belly dancer that Mary hired to surprise Scott. Yes, I said belly dancer. It was quite a show!!Mary had a smile from ear to ear the entire day. Just like a little girl on Christmas morning. There were actually times throughout the day that she couldn’t even speak from being so excited. And then there were times when she just kept saying over and over, “Is this real?, I can’t believe this is happening. This seems so unreal!” So pretty much her wedding was absolutely perfect and beautiful and she couldn’t have asked for more! The Reason I love Photography captured all the things I loved about this day and there were so many pictures it was so hard to just pick a few. I think this one is magazine worthy, don’t you?

Congratulations Scott and Mary!! And many thanks to their wedding team…..

This year I shared my birthday with Erica and Ben Sheidler and 200 of their closest friends and family. I’d say that was probably the best birthday cake and the biggest crowd that ever showed up on my birthday! The Saturday before this was a record high in Atlanta with a temp of 108 degrees. Camilly Harvey, Erica’s mom, wasn’t about to let the heat mess up her daughters day so she packed a bag full of ice packs, little fans and cold bottled waters for the wedding party. Thank goodness because there was no way we could not take pictures on the rooftop terrace of the Loews Hotel where they got ready that day! Totally gorgeous and right in the heard of midtown Atlanta! Erica, you were stunning and Camille, I know you are so proud to see these beautiful pictures by The Photography Collection!

We were so glad to be back at Park Tavern in the Piedmont Room for Alaina and Kevin’s beautiful day. It was a hot day, but who was thinking about the heat when you had that gorgeous Atlanta skyline in the background. The park was busy, the weather was perfect and the flowers were breathtaking. Alaina was a bride that knew exactly what she wanted from the very get go and nobody was about to change her mind. While trying to complete the Physicians Assistant program at Mercer University, wedding planning never took the back burner. She was one of the most organized brides I have ever worked with and just adored her groom, Kevin Burran! This turned out to be such a magical night. We even got to hear Alaina’s grandpa sing us a Sinatra tune! Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your special day.

I was excited to hear that Jordyn wanted a fairy birthday party.

Since her favorite thing to do is dress up, I knew that all the fairies needed tutus and wings and all the boys (elves) needed bows and arrows.

The party started with the Queen and Princess Fairy reading an enchanted adventure story which lead the fairies to their costumes, their talents and then to their treats.

Once they found their costumes, they found the bag that held their talents. There were garden fairies, wood fairies, light fairies and yes, even tinker fairies.

To celebrate their talents, they each got a turn to dance with the Queen Fairy.

Once the dancing celebration was over it was time for cake and treats.

The night concluded with a final dance with sparklers and laughter.

Happy Birthday Sweet Jordyn! Always believe!

The invitation was designed as a GAP coupon.

The colors were none other than blue and white.

Each “GAP Employee” guest received a name tag upon arrival.

Then they decorated a GAP Poster and made a GAP style tshirt.

Of course we had to have a GAP photo-shoot.

Then each “GAP Employee” guest received a GAP shopping-goody-bag!

I personally have done a lot of different themed events, and I have to say that this one was one of the most unique and creative parties I have seen in a while.

The next wedding we would love to showcase is Jim and Elisabeth. What an awesome couple to work with! With 12 groomsmen, you know we were in for a great party! I mean just look at this picture of Jim. You know they know how to have a good time!

 Although Elisabeth and Jim got married over a month ago, their pictures by Milanes Photography are amazing and timeless!

And Old Decatur Courthouse made the perfect setting for this wedding!

The Birthday girl….quite gorgeous, if I say so myself!

Jessica had such an elegant design, that we must add, she mostly did herself. (Way to go girl!). Her yellow and gray color scheme was beautifully displayed in the courthouse setting.

Woodlands Fields Photography did an amazing job capturing the elegance of Jessica and Robert’s wedding.

BASH was so excited to do all the floral and centerpiece arrangements for this event. It is so fun when a bride has a great vision!

Avante Catering provided delicious food (the best macaroni and cheese on the planet) and a gourgeous and tasty cake.

And Avalanche Entertainment kept the night moving and the party happy!

Such a wonderful and beautiful wedding! Here’s to you, Jessica and Robert.
